Hey team. U.S. futures edged lower during early trading on Monday as trade tensions come back to center stage with the tariff deadline approaching.

Let’s see what’s ahead for the markets!

Macro Viewpoint

Stocks pulled back at the outset of what could be a turbulent week, as U.S. trading partners hurried to wrap up trade agreements with the Trump administration before a looming July 9 tariff deadline.

President Donald Trump said on Sunday that the U.S. is on the verge of completing multiple trade deals and plans to inform other nations of increased tariff rates by July 9, with those rates set to take effect on August 1.

Markets had recently rebounded to record levels, recovering from April’s sharp selloff triggered by broad tariff announcements. That rally was supported by growing optimism that the eventual tariffs might be milder than feared and by ongoing signs of strength in the U.S. economy.

With the deadline fast approaching, trade tensions are once again taking center stage. Trump has vowed to begin rolling out higher, unilateral tariffs on numerous countries in the coming days.
