Stock futures trimmed earlier losses as investors explored opportunities in other regions, following this month's strong rally in U.S. equities.

Let’s recap yesterday’s session and look ahead to what’s next!

Impact Snapshot

  • 🟥 Manufacturing/Services PMI - 9:45am

  • 🟥 Consumer Sentiment - 10:00am

Macro Viewpoint

U.S. stock index futures initially edged lower on Friday as investors showed caution ahead of a business activity survey. Geopolitical tensions between Ukraine and Russia also kept the market on edge.

Investors are eyeing the S&P business activity survey, due at 9:45 a.m. ET. Forecasts suggest services will stay in expansion, while manufacturing may remain in contraction.

Despite Friday's dip, the major indexes are set to end the week higher. Optimism persists over potential corporate benefits tied to Donald Trump’s tax and tariff policies after his election win.

Expectations for the Federal Reserve's December decision are fluctuating between a pause and a rate cut, as investors assess how Trump's policies might affect inflation.
