Let’s recap the last session and see what’s next!

Macro Viewpoint

U.S. stock index futures edged lower on Thursday as investors steered away from risk following renewed tariff threats from President Donald Trump. Market sentiment was further dampened by geopolitical concerns and a cautious stance from the Federal Reserve.

Minutes from the Fed’s January policy meeting, released on Wednesday, indicated that Trump's initial policy proposals had heightened inflation concerns within the central bank.

Officials agreed to keep interest rates unchanged until there was clear evidence that inflation, which has remained largely stagnant since mid-2024, would reliably move toward the Fed’s 2% target.

Later in the day, investors will be watching for a weekly jobless claims report and remarks from at least four Federal Reserve officials.
