Hey team. U.S. futures edged higher overnight and are poised to add to their biggest weekly gain since November’s election.

Let’s recap Thursday’s session and see what’s next for the markets!

Macro Viewpoint

U.S. stock futures rose on Friday, with the S&P 500 and the Dow heading for their biggest weekly gains since November.

Strong earnings from major banks and signs that inflation is slowing have encouraged more risk-taking on Wall Street this week. This has pushed the S&P 500 toward one of its strongest weekly gains since the U.S. election.

Donald Trump is expected to take over the White House on Monday, and investors are watching closely for details on his plans for tax cuts, tariffs, and loose regulation during his inauguration speech.

Still, there are worries that Trump's ideas on tariffs might lead to trade conflicts and higher prices. With the economy already doing well, this could push the Federal Reserve to stop easing monetary policy further.
