Hey team. U.S. futures remained largely unchanged early Friday after the major indexes declined in response to a disappointing earnings forecast from retail giant Walmart.

Let’s re-cap the prior session and see what’s ahead for the markets!

  • 🟧 Consumer Sentiment -10:00am

Macro Viewpoint

U.S. stock index futures paused on Friday following a decline in the previous session, which was driven by a drop in Walmart shares, persistent concerns over tariffs, and uncertainty surrounding the Federal Reserve’s interest rate outlook.

The S&P 500 is on track for a flat weekly close, pulling back slightly after reaching record highs twice earlier in the week.

Although President Donald Trump struck a more measured tone on tariffs this week, investors remain cautious about the market’s future direction.

On Thursday, multiple Federal Reserve officials indicated that they still expect easing inflation to eventually provide room for further interest rate cuts by the central bank.
